Do you have a longing to make your life count in your generation as a youth? Do you desire to be a veritable vessel in the hands of God to make a difference in your family, school, church, community and nation? If yes, then this book is all you need to serve God better. In this powerful masterpiece, Joe Jesimiel Ogbe, a veteran youth minister encourages you to see yourself as:
+ God’s foot soldier and an arrow sharpened to contend with the enemy in the gate.
+ God’s solution for a decadent generation.
+ God’s meteor designed and fabricated to make impact in your world.
No doubt, “The Youth God Uses” is intended to equip, inspire, instruct and motivate you to become usable and useful to God.
There is this erroneous belief among some young folks that God uses only the “Anointed” or “Ordained” men of God to accomplish His kingdom objectives. It is believed that one must be anointed and specially called to become useful to God and humanity. This position is a faulty one because I have discovered from scriptures that God used ordinary young folks to accomplish His assignments at one time or the other. God is not a respecter of persons or age of individuals. He does not even care about the status, gender or social standing of individuals.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” — Gal. 3:28 (NKJV)
God is too deep and too big to be restricted to only the ordained clergy. The work of the kingdom is too large and too important to be left entirely for the ordained clergy alone. God is still in the business of empowering ordinary folks for His kingdom business. He is still engaging young folks like He did engage Joseph, David, Daniel, Esther, Mary and a host of others to accomplish His purpose on earth.
This book is written to provoke you to embrace a youth-to-youth initiative; an approach where a youth would accept the responsibility to positively affect another youth for God; second, to provoke you to embrace a life of contribution or impact; third, to provoke the emergence of young “generals” that would discern the times, by operating in the spirit of the sons of Issachar “who were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…” and sharpening relevant skills to become productive and useful vessels to the glory of God.
One of the challenges in the world of youth today is that many of them lack the understanding of what they ought to be and do in their youthful season. That’s why many of them are not useful to God and humanity. The few that are useful can readily differentiate between “What they want to be and do” and “What they ought to be and do”. They know that “What they ought to be and do” is superior to “what they want to be and do” Like the sons of Issachar, they are able to gain command and lead others because they know what they ought to be and do in their season.
As a youth you are in your season of relevance. You can readily volunteer to represent the Lord in any capacity! You can have a burning desire to do something worthwhile for God. You can be an answer or a solution to someone out there. You can become a veritable tool in the hands of God to make a significant difference in the lives of people around you.
